Hold Me Tight® Couples Workshop

Do you feel like you and your partner are stuck in a pattern where you:

Feel like you are "just roommates"?

Feel disconnected and more like business partners, rather than lovers?

Have the same argument, and little or nothing seems to get resolved?

Feel misunderstood or lonely, and long for understanding and connection?

If it's time to renew your relationship and break old patterns of disconnection, then this couples workshop is for you!

Workshops are based on the work of Dr. Sue Johnson, the creator of Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples and the author of Hold Me Tight.  Join us for a 2-day non-residential weekend workshop near the waterfront in downtown Tacoma, WA.

The Hold Me Tight® Workshop was developed by Dr. Sue Johnson and is designed around seven conversations based on the Hold Me Tight book, all of which have been shown to be essential to successful relationships.  You will learn how to understand and improve your relationship through presentations by the workshop leaders, by watching video demonstrations of other couples, and through private break-out sessions with your partner where you will engage in focused conversations and dialogue.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) is a short-term, structured approach to marital and couples therapy. Empirical research has supported the effectiveness of EFT, showing that 70-75% of couples move from distress to recovery and about 90% show significant improvements (the best results of any couple therapy) and evidence shows that these positive effects last over time.

"This workshop experience has been one of the most profound experiences of our marriage".

Hold Me Tight Couples Workshops include:

  • Live teaching and demonstrations by a licensed therapist trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy within the professionally respected EFT community.
  • Video taped sessions showing couples working through the Emotionally Focused Therapy process.
  • Practice exercises with your partner to help foster awareness and understanding of your emotional experiences.
  • A Hold Me Tight workbook containing exercises and information to take notes during the workshop, and to use at home as you continue the process of deepening your relationships.
