Loosely translated into English, elpis means hope. In the New Testament however, the Greek word elpis has a much richer meaning. Elpis does not mean hope as in the common expression, “I hope so” which implies doubt. Rather, elpis expresses a confident expectation or assurance (Strong, #1680, 1996). It is more closely expressed as, “There is no doubt about it!”
At Elpis Counseling, we have a confident expectation that with the proper support systems in place, your life will get better. While it can be difficult to have hope when you are in the midst of your problems, your counselor at Elpis Counseling will hold that hope for you until you are able to hope for yourself.
